This weekend I´ve finally had time to set my new MPC board in the door of my astronomical observatory.
Since I got the MPC Code, I wanted to have a physical distinction in my observatory that explained to all my visitors what I´m doing every night of new moon.
And since the " Teatrillo de Lyra" observatory is made of wood, so the board needed to be made of wood too.
So thanks to my wife Gloria, who is a great artist of pirography on wood, I can enjoy this little present that tells everybody that my place has license to report measurements of asteroids and comets to the Minor Planet Center in Massachusets

Hola, Mario: enhorabona pel teu observatori i pel teu blog. En aquell comentari em reconeixies la feina feta amb els asteroides. Moltes gràcies. Jo vaig treballar dos anys al COU del Montsec i conec el lloc on és ubicat el teu observatori. Si vols podem col·laborar junts i mirar si podem fer algun descobriment asteroïdal. Actualment el descobriment d'asteroides és molt factible si arribes a la magnitud 20,5 però necessites descobrir-ne 20 perquè solament un sigui realment teu, és a dir, que siguis el primer que l'ha vist. En general quan descobreixes un asteroide el confirmes la nit següent i et donen la designació provisional, però gairebé sempre al cap d'uns dies d'allargar-li l'arc el MPC l'enllaça amb una observació prèvia solta feta per algunn survey.
